McLean, VA, April 30, 2012- Centrifuge Systems, Inc (www.CentrifugeSystems.com) announced the appointment of Tony Ayaz to the newly created position of Senior Vice President of Field Operations. Ayaz will immediately assume responsibility for enabling Centrifuge to capitalize on trends in Big Data and Social Networks and the extremely positive market response to the Centrifuge Visual Network Analytics platform. As SVP of Field Operations, he will be responsible for driving worldwide revenue across all channels and markets.

Ayaz brings over 18 years of professional sales executive and entrepreneurial business experience to Centrifuge. Ayaz joins Centrifuge from Splunk, one of the early pioneers addressing Big Data by analyzing machine-generated data in real-time and creating operational intelligence for IT and business customers. Ayaz joined Splunk in 2006, when the product first shipped, and helped define the market while consistently executing sales targets across North America, Europe and Public Sector.

“I’m thrilled to be joining Centrifuge at this time,” comments Tony Ayaz, Senior Vice President of Field Operations. “According to IDC, the Worldwide Big Data technology and services forecast is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 40% or seven times that of the overall information technology market, creating the foundation for the intelligent economy. Centrifuge is in the right place at the right time with a patented data visualization technology that reduces the risk of fraud exposure by 40-70% through improved visibility and collaborative analysis.”

“Tony has a proven ability to consistently deliver results in scaling early stage companies in fast, hyper growth,” comments Centrifuge CEO Renee Lorton. “His leadership and experience is precisely what we need at this stage of our growth. We are confident that his management style, our recognized innovation and the strong market will accelerate our market penetration. We welcome Tony to the Centrifuge team.”

DOD Announces the Expansion of Defense Industrial Base (DIB) Voluntary Cybersecurity Information Sharing Activities
(From: http://www.defense.gov/releases/release.aspx?releaseid=15266 )

The Department of Defense in partnership with the Department of Homeland Security announced today important developments in defense industrial base cyber security activities. After a year-long Defense Industrial Base (DIB) cyber security pilot, the DoD’s Voluntary DIB Cyber Security/ Information Assurance (CS/IA) Program is now available to all eligible DIB companies. In addition, DIB Enhanced Cyber security Services (DECS) will become part of the expanded program.

These activities enhance and supplement existing cyber security capabilities to help safeguard sensitive DoD information that is maintained on DIB company unclassified information systems.

“The expansion of voluntary information sharing between the department and the defense industrial base represents an important step forward in our ability to catch up with widespread cyber threats,” said Ashton Carter, deputy secretary of defense. “Increased dependence on Internet solutions have exposed sensitive but unclassified information stored on corporate systems to malicious probes, theft, and attacks. This expanded partnership between DoD and the defense industrial base will help reduce the risk of intrusions on our systems.”

The United States continues to face a significant risk that critical defense information residing on DIB networks and systems can be compromised by malicious cyber actors resulting in potential economic losses or damage to United States national security. The Department of Defense is actively engaged in multiple efforts to foster mutually beneficial partnerships with the DIB to protect Department of Defense information residing on or passing though DIB systems.

“I am pleased by the deep collaboration between DoD, DHS and DIB partners. The success of this program encourages us to explore additional ways to enhance the protection of defense industry networks and DoD information,” said Carter. “Shared information between DoD, DHS and the defense industrial base can help us defend against the ever-growing threat of cyber attacks.”

These expanded partnering opportunities will advance and support the administration’s efforts to improve the cyber security posture of both public and private critical infrastructure.

Fixmo, the mobile risk management company, today announced its Certified Partner Program for Fixmo SafeZone that brings defense-grade data security and policy management to mobile applications in the enterprise. Through the program, government agencies and enterprise customers can now leverage certified development partners to secure their mobile apps for iOS and Android and re-package them for distribution into the Fixmo SafeZone Secure Workspace using the Fixmo SafeGuard Software Development Kit (SDK).

Additionally, Fixmo has signed Coolfire Solutions, a leader in secure mobile application development for the military and intelligence community, on as a charter member of the Certified Partner Program.

Fixmo, the mobile risk management company, today announced Fixmo SafeGuard, a powerful new Software Development Kit (SDK) for securing mobile apps and protecting private data on iOS and Android devices. With the rapid proliferation of mobile apps, both consumers and business professionals are storing an increasing amount of sensitive information on smartphones and tablets, leaving them vulnerable to private data loss and security threats. Fixmo SafeGuard adds additional layers of security and encryption to existing mobile apps to mitigate the risk of privacy loss, private data leakage, malicious exploits and policy compliance breaches.

The Fixmo SafeGuard SDK creates a secure container around mobile apps by “wrapping” them with advanced access controls, remote policy management and defense-grade data encryption. It leverages the same technology that powers the Fixmo SafeZone secure workspace, which has been developed as part of Fixmo’s Co-operative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) and is now available for government agencies and enterprise customers around the world.

“As mobile apps become more sophisticated and store an increasing amount of private data, we need to ensure they can be properly secured and protected,” said Rick Segal, CEO, Fixmo. “As a leader in mobile security and compliance, we’re very excited to bring the SafeGuard SDK to our customers and partners to help them secure and harden their mobile apps with some of the most advanced data encryption and policy management capabilities available today.”

With the Fixmo SafeGuard SDK, app developers can add the following capabilities to their mobile apps for iOS and Android:
• Defense-Grade Encryption a of data-at-rest and data-in-transit using FIPS 140-2 validated AES 256-bit encryption
• Application-Level Policy Management including password controls and security checks to prevent the app from running if the device has been compromised, Jailbroken or Rooted
• Remote Application Management including remote lock/wipe commands and custom management policies
• Application Deployment into Fixmo SafeZone, the secure workspace for enterprises and government agencies for BYOD and corporate-owned iOS and Android devices

Apps that are secured with the Fixmo SafeGuard SDK can be deployed directly to mobile devices and managed as individual apps, or they can be deployed into the Fixmo SafeZone secure corporate workspace and be centrally managed alongside other enterprise apps using the Fixmo SafeZone or Fixmo Sentinel management tools.

Application developers and systems integrators interested in securing their apps with the Fixmo SafeGuard SDK can find more information at http://fixmo.com/products/safezone/safeguard.

Fixmo, the mobile risk management company, today announced that it will offer its Fixmo SafeZone Secure Browser and Fixmo SafeGuard Software Development Kit (SDK) at no charge to government and defense agencies.

Through a Co-operative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with the NSA/CSS, as represented by the Information Assurance Directorate, Fixmo is actively engaged in various projects centered on mitigating mobile risk. Through the NSA Technology Transfer Program (TTP), Fixmo has driven the transition of powerful mobile risk management solutions from government off-the-shelf (GOTS) products to commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products.

Fixmo offers a variety of mobile security and risk management products to government agencies at no charge including Fixmo Sentinel Desktop for BlackBerry and Android, Fixmo Sentinel Server Compliance Check (SCC) for BlackBerry Enterprise Server and now the Fixmo SafeZone Secure Browser and SafeGuard SDK for iOS and Android.

Fixmo SafeZone is the first secure corporate workspace for iOS and Android that provides encrypted, contained and managed corporate email, browsing, documents and applications with a defense-grade security architecture that provides AES 256-bit encryption of data-at-rest and data-in-transit without relying on a Network Operations Center (NOC). Fixmo SafeGuard is a new app security SDK that is built on the same technology that is used in Fixmo SafeZone.

“Fixmo is proud to expand its offering of no-charge mobile security and risk management products for government agencies as part of our Co-operative Research and Development Agreement with the NSA/CSS,” said Rick Segal, CEO, Fixmo. “The Fixmo SafeZone Secure Browser and SafeGuard SDK provide powerful new tools to enable secure, managed and controlled access to behind-the-firewall applications from the latest iPhones, iPads and Android-based devices, at no additional cost.”

The Fixmo SafeZone Secure Browser is a fully contained and encrypted HTML-5 web browser that provides secure access to behind-the-firewall applications, content and documents on smartphones and tablets. The Secure Browser stays completely contained from the native browser on the device, ensuring a complete separation between personal and corporate data. It offers secure browsing on both iOS and Android devices using defense-grade FIPS 140-2 validated AES 256-bit encryption for all data stored within the browser and its local cache.

The Fixmo SafeGuard SDK enables government agencies to add defense-grade security, policy management and IT controls to their custom applications for iOS and Android. With Fixmo SafeGuard, developers can easily enhance their mobile applications with the same FIPS 140-2 validated AES 256-bit encryption, advanced access controls and IT policies that are inherent in the Fixmo SafeZone secure workspace solution. Once an application is updated and re-packaged using the Fixmo SafeGuard SDK, organizations can deploy it into the Fixmo SafeZone secure workspace and manage application policies using the Fixmo SafeZone or Fixmo Sentinel management console.

Government customers can learn more about the Fixmo SafeZone Secure Browser and SafeGuard SDK and sign up for a no-charge version at http://fixmo.com/products/safezone/government .

PALO ALTO, CA AND TOKYO, JAPAN – April 25, 2012 – Cloudera, the leading provider of Apache Hadoop-based data management software, services and training, today announced that it has established a Japanese subsidiary, Cloudera KK, and an office in Japan. Cloudera’s formal presence extends availability of its products and support offerings to Japanese enterprises that have deployed or are seeking to deploy Apache Hadoop and related technologies in the Hadoop stack to unlock business insights from their Big Data.

To provide Hadoop enterprise support services in Japan, Cloudera KK is working with NTT DATA and Nippon Steel Solutions Corporation.

“We believe that the presence of Cloudera KK will significantly propel Hadoop deployments and its application in Big Data forward in Japan,” said Mr. Hiroshi Endo, Senior Vice President Senior Executive Manager System Platforms Sector, NTT DATA. “We are excited to work closely together to deliver superior support services and solutions for enterprises, and also to promote open source software such as Apache Hadoop-based solutions. NTT DATA looks forward to the global development of the Hadoop platform. By partnering with the industry leader, Cloudera, we are able to address the growing demand of enterprise customers for a more effective approach to Hadoop.”

“We welcome the establishment of Cloudera in Japan, and we strongly believe that sophisticated utilization of Big Data technology is a critical element for growth and innovation of Japanese enterprises. We are truly pleased to work closely with Cloudera and its industry-standard Apache Hadoop distribution and enterprise services and training,” said Yutaka Miyabe, Senior Executive Director, NS Solutions. “As a partner of Cloudera we will provide distribution, consulting and technical support services in Japan and will encourage the broader use of Apache Hadoop technology by Japanese enterprises.”

In addition to business development, sales and marketing for the Japanese market, Cloudera Japan offers local technical support and local classes and certification from Cloudera University, the most established and industry-recognized training and certification for Apache Hadoop and related technologies. To date, there are more than 200 Cloudera University-certified Hadoop engineers in Japan, and Cloudera is committed to providing more training and certification resources across the region.

“We view establishing operations in Japan as a vital step in Cloudera’s global expansion, and we’re proud that Cloudera Japan marks our first formal entity abroad,” said Mike Olson, CEO of Cloudera. “Our presence in Japan will provide increased support, software, training and availability of services for Apache Hadoop users and will foster wider adoption of Apache Hadoop-based solutions. We will be focusing significant attention on Cloudera’s growth in this market, and we look forward to building new partnerships and engaging new customers.”

Giuseppe Kobayashi will lead the ongoing expansion of the company’s presence in Japan as the Representative Director of Cloudera Japan. His proven track record in executive management of U.S. high tech firms establishing business in Japan will help to accelerate Cloudera’s growth in this market.

“Cloudera drives the industry standard for Hadoop and Big Data across all markets and is unrivaled in its longstanding reliability, integrity and commitment to its partners and customers,” said Kobayashi. “As demand for Big Data in Japan continues to grow, Cloudera’s presence will empower Japanese enterprises to implement Hadoop and explore machine data that was previously left idle. I look forward to contributing to the company’s aggressive growth and expansion and to seeing where the Big Data revolution will go in Japan.”
